Lizzie Stables is an actor, writer & Artistic Director of Folio Theatre.

Lizzie's debut play NANNY airs on BBC Radio 4 on May 2026, directed by Sara Pascoe.

Lizzie works across theatre, television, comedy, audio and video games. Current work includes co-writing, co-producing and performing in NANNY for BBC Radio 4, directed by Sara Pascoe; leading Folio’s 10th anniversary Season of Care; developing a stage adaptation of Dr Kathryn Mannix’s bestselling book With the End in Mind; expanding Folio’s mentoring programme for young adult carers alongside ongoing work with women seeking sanctuary in Swindon; voice work for Audible and games including Crimson Desert and Wuthering Waves.

Since founding Folio in 2014, Lizzie has developed and produced new plays, artist development programmes and community partnerships across the UK, with a particular focus on championing female artists and creating opportunities for artists and audiences in rural communities.  In 2019, her work as an Artistic Director was recognised by Clore Leadership.
